Senior Pastor Doug Pittam was born on the mission field in Central America. He grew up in Southern California most of his childhood. Early on he was aware that God wanted control of everything in his life, and at the age of 15 he totally surrendered the control of his life to the Lord. This began a wonderful journey with his loving Heavenly Father. He received His call to preach at a church altar in Panama City, Panama where his father was pastor. He received his formal education at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, and most importantly in the “trenches” of ministry the last two decades. While at Point Loma he met and married the girl of his dreams, Sondi. They have three wonderful daughters, Megan, Kendra, and Courtney. The Pittams came to the beautiful Central Coast in July 2006 and love serving God on the team and in the wonderful family here at the SLO. Nazarene church. His life’s verse is I Peter 4:8 “…above all, love each other deeply.” May love motivate all we do as God builds his kingdom in and through us. |

Worship, Communication & Creative Arts Pastor Glenn McArdle has been a church planter for more than 25 years, being involved with founding many churches on the west coast, and has served in just about every role in new churches including administrative, worship, youth, and senior pastor roles. He has a broad and varied background as a professional business manager, graphic designer and musician that God has combined and put to use serving the SLO Nazarene Church on the Central Coast, having joined the team at SLO Naz in 2004. He has played music professionally in just about every venue and style – from rock bands, concert tours, and session work until He was called to play, lead and write worship music for the church. Glenn lives on the Central Coast with his wife of 28 years, Debie, and Penny the wonder dog, their golden retriever (doesn’t everyone think their pet is the coolest). They have 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren, love the outdoors, camping, are music and movie nuts, and love hanging out together more than just about anything. His overall guiding passage for serving the Lord is Psalm 105:1-5 – look it up! |

Shay Stewart, the Children’s Director, grew up in Benicia, California. He majored in Political Science at Sonoma State University and studied Organizational Behavior at the Universities of San Francisco and La Verne. Shay and his family first started attending SLONAZ in the Spring of 2002, and they were immediately hooked by the Children’s Programs. They started volunteering with Camp Wednesdays, Choir Camp, and Vacation Bible School. In 2003 Shay was called to help with Youth Group of SLONAZ where he worked with the Youth Pastor on Weekly Wednesday Night Youth Group, Winter and Spring Retreats, and the Annual Italian Dinner Fundraiser for four years. In 2007 Shay was called back into volunteering in the Children’s Ministry Department. In the Spring of 2008 he was asked to be the Director for the Explorers Club Camp and in the Summer of 2008 Children’s Director. Shay Stewart lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife, Erica and their two sons, Grayson and Braidon. He enjoys playing soccer and he is involved with Local Youth Sports, and is on the board of his sons’ school. For Shay, who has previously worked in the hospitality, retail and Dot Com industries, working with the Children is single greatest passion he has had throughout his life, and now God has given him an opportunity to use the skills he learned in the secular world to grow the Body of Christ with Children.
